Fear Of Dentists

Dentists are the ones who treat us for any problem that are related to our mouth, teeth, or gums. They are the ones who will get it all or dental problems resolved. Dentists use many objects that are sharp and pointed such as needles, drills and many sharp objects. The use of such advanced equipment on one of the most sensitive of parts of the body creates fear in a person. However there are many people that assume adversity and try avoiding dental treatment as they have fear of dentists. Fear of dentist can be stated as common fear where all of us happen to fear it before the treatment. However the fact that after bearing this little pain our problem is solved is something one should not forget. But for some it is really not possible to take pain and this fear acts as a blockage in their process of treatment.
A dental treatment is a must for every person even though he or she might not have any dental problems. It is advisable for every person to attend a dentist for a routine dental check-up that consists of cleaning of teeth and gums for your benefit where you will […]

The Little Known History Of Fiber Optic Telecommunication

1792 - The first practical optical telecommunication system - Claude Chappe’s semaphore systemFrench inventor Claude Chappe demonstrated a practical semaphore system that eventually spanned all of France. His system was a series of semaphores mounted on towers, where human operators relayed messages from one tower to the next. It beat hand-carried messages hands down.1854 - Total internal reflection - the technology foundation for fiber optic communicationOne theory slowly took root which would ultimately solve the problem of optical communication. This phenomenon was named total internal reflection.British physicist John Tyndall demonstrated total internal reflection by guiding light in a jet of water flowing from a tank. In the 1890s, inventors realized that bent quartz rods could carry light, and patented them as dental illuminators.1880 - Alexander Graham Bell’s optical telephone systemAlexander Graham Bell patented an optical telephone system, which he called the Photophone. He dreamed of sending signals through the air, but the atmosphere didn’t transmit light as reliably as wires carried electricity.1920 - The patent of using arrays of hollow pipes or transparent rods to transmit imagesDuring the 1920s, John Logie Baird in England and Clarence W. Hansell in the United States patented the idea of using arrays of hollow pipes or transparent rods to transmit images for television or facsimile systems.1930 - Heinrich Lamm demonstrated image transmission through a bundle of optical fibersMunich’s medical student Heinrich Lamm was the first person to have demonstrated image transmission through a bundle of optical fibers. In a 1930 paper, he reported transmitting the image of a light bulb filament through a short bundle.1954 - Van Heel invented fiber claddingAll earlier fibers developed were bare and lacked any form of cladding, with total internal reflection occurring at a glass-air interface.Dutch scientist Van Heel made the crucial innovation of cladding fiber-optic cables. He covered a bare fiber or glass or plastic with a transparent cladding of lower refractive index. This protected the total reflection surface from contamination and greatly reduced cross talk between fibers.1960 - The invention of laserThe July 22, 1960 issue of Electronics magazine introduced its report on Theodore Maiman’s demonstration of the first laser.1964 - The critical and theoretical specification of optical fiber identified by Dr. Charles K. KaoAfter a long, hard look at fiber attenuation, Dr. Kao concluded that the high losses of early fibers were due to impurities, not to silica glass itself. He forecasted that fiber loss could be reduced below 20 dB/km for long-range communication devices. Dr. Kao also illustrated the need for a purer form of glass to help reduce light loss.1970 - Corning Glass’s invention of low loss single mode fiberRobert Maurer, Donald Keck, and Peter Schultz at Corning Glass announced they had made single-mode fibers with attenuation at the 633-nanometer helium-neon line below 20 dB/km.1977 - The first live traffic fiber optic systemGeneral Telephone and Electronics tested and deployed the world’s first live telephone traffic through a fiber-optic system running at 6 Mbps.Soon in May 1977, Bell Lab deployed an optical telephone communication system in the downtown Chicago area, covering a distance of 1.5 miles.About the author Find out even more about LC fiber patch, LC fiber patch cable and LC patch cord on Fiber Optics For Sale Co. web site : www.fiberoptics4sale.com/page/FOFS/CTGY/Fiber_Optic_Simplex_Multimode_Patch_Cords

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Ideas

A perfect combination of martial arts, actiNinja adventure and cute turtles, these characters are the perfect basis for a boy’s birthday party. Most little boys I know love at least one, if not all of the characteristics of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Incorporating all of those traits into a birthday party is sure to turn into some sure fire fun.The Teenage Mutant Ninj Turtles are best known for their martial arts, their love of pizza, sewers and for screaming Cowabunga!!!!!. This translates into a supereasy birthday party to put together.Party DecorationsWith Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles party supplies readily available, you may opt to take the simpler or less expensive route. Using basic colors and supplies can achieve that goal. I suggest using a combination or green and blue or green and brown. To make this party scream Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, we need some signature decor. Here are a few suggestions:1. Manhole Covers Wall Decor - Cut out large circles out of posterboard or cardboard. Try to make them at least 24 inches in diameter. Use either silver or grey colored posterboard super easypewter grey. Now cut circles 1 inch smaller than the original circles. Use black posterboard or paint these circles black. Paste the black circle on top of the grey circle. Cut out strips the length of the diameter of the circles by about 1 inch in width. Over lap the strips one by one making a plaid design. Paste the completed plaid design over the circles. Trim where necessary. Your manhole cover is now complete and can be hung on your wall or on the floor.2. Ninja Stars - What’s a ninja without ninja stars? Using a six point star cut out the shape on silver/grey posterboard.3. Graffiti Brick Wall - Using faux brick wall paper and spray paint this is easy to replicate and perfectly legal. For authenticity, use sevcral colors of spray paint. Add the birthday boy’s name and party guests to the faux brick wall paper. hposter boardraffiticreator.net/ has several styles of font that you may try to replicate if you are shooting for a very authentic look. Once dry hang on a wall.4. Hang up posters or enlarge clipart and hang poster boardThe turtles LOVE pizza so add empty pizza boxes all over.Party GamesSince this is a ninja based birthday party, chances are there will be some martial arts replicating going on. The best poster board someone with an accidental black eye is to keep the ninja’s in training occupied. These party games should help.Pin the Mask on the Turtle - the same concept as pin the tail on the donkey.Free Printable Available SoonFind the Manhole Cover - the TMNT are always looking for a route back to the sewer. Make several small manhole covers and hide around the party area. The one who finds the most escape routes (manhole covers) is the winner.Ninja Star Practice - Don’t panic these are not real ninja stars. Using paper ninja stars (see decorations above) designate a specific area as the target. Whoever comes closest to the target area is the winner.Find The Pizza - using the same emptposter boardes, hide a fake pizza (clipart cutout) to one of the boxes. Have the party gamers search for the pizza. Whoever finds it first is the winner.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Training Camp - (recommended for older children). If you have the roseveralors or the weather permits, have the party goers compete or participate in a traing course. Events can include jumping, running, kicking and flipping. To make it a competition just rate who did each category the fastest or highest. This should be a supervised party game. To make it extra special, have the children wear green and place eyes masks (in the TMNT colors) on them. You will have your own swarm of ninja turtles.Party MenuPizza - duh!Lime Green Jello - (Ooze)Lime Green colored Kool-Aid or juice.About the author Cynthia Marcano is the webmaster for www.boysbirthdaypartyplanner.com.
